crm APLICOR
Aplicor is a well regarded ERP software and CRM software manufacturer based in the U.S. The Aplicor Enterprise CRM & ERP system is best suited for middle market and enterprise companies. In addition to the flagship business software system, the company offers industry specific versions for government, financial services and professional services enterprises. Aplicor does not evoke the same market awareness as larger competitors, however, the company has acquired some of the largest software as a service ERP implementations in the world (several implementations over 1,000 users), achieved one of the highest average user counts in the hosted software industry (over 100 users on average) and earned more awards than any other on-demand ERP software company.

crm INTUIT
Intuit acquired the former Entellium hosted CRM software solution. The CRM system is best suited for the small business market. In addition to the flagship on-demand CRM software system, the company offers a locally installed and highly interactive personal contact management system. Intuit continues to address go to market operational challenges and the product has yet to demonstrate much market share under the new Intuit banner.

crm NETSUITE
Founded by Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and born of the same Oracle DNA, NetSuite has become a leader in the on-demand enterprise resource planning software market. NetSuite has demonstrated impressive product maturity, however, struggled to keep customers happy and keep customers at all. NetSuite chooses not to disclose annual customer churn, however, is rumored to have the highest customer turnover in the hosted ERP software industry. Perhaps a victim of being a pioneer in the software as a service industry, the company must balance its product depth with the ability to satisfy customers who subscribe to an accounting software service.

crm SALESFORCE.COM
Founded in 1999, Salesforce.com defied the dot com bubble implosion to become the software as a service CRM poster child. The company counts over one million users and is clearly the SaaS CRM software market share leader. Despite a commanding leadership position, the company is vulnerable to both other pure play on demand CRM providers and traditional CRM publishers who are late in penetrating the SaaS market place. In addition to market share, Salesforce.com advantages include a robust Sales Force Automation (SFA) module, the AppExchange third party directory and a global sales presence. Salesforce.com vulnerabilities include repeated data center downtime occurrences, weaker marketing and customer support modules and a much more costly solution than competitors. The Force.com development environment from Salesforce.com may be a strength or weakness depending upon your perspective. While Force.com is a purpose built tool to aid in software integration and software development, it is nonetheless a proprietary tool that leaves internal IT departments with yet another development technology to learn. Many IT shops would have preferred using a pure industry standard tool such as Java/J2EE or even Microsoft .NET.
